Don’t Cry!

“We’re men!” we cry – (and men don’t cry)
And so throughout the years,
We’ve bottled our emotions
And hidden all our tears.
We’ve sneered and laughed and failed to love
When weeping filled the air,
And given indication
No maturity was there.
Oh, what fools we are to try to see
Our manly standards kept,
Overlooking one great act of love
That answers: “Jesus wept.”
