723B: 10 Commandments: The Truth Will Set You Free
The Scripture speaks out on the dangers of slandering your neighbor through false witness. However, the deeper problem is one of esteeming God's whole concept of truth. Nearly every passage on bearing false witness is set in the larger context of lying lips. As we look at this ninth commandment, we see that God is speaking of the greater issue of telling the truth in every situation.
