1231B: It Is Not in Me
What was Joseph's secret of greatness? Joseph had served and submitted until every trace of personal ambition and every hint of personal glory was gone. He had surrendered his life to God. Therefore, he was able to say to Pharaoh, "It is not in me. God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace." Joseph did not take the glory, but rather gave the glory to God. Just as with Joseph, God is teaching us to give our lives to Him and allow Him to work through us in all situations. If we do that, we can say like Joseph—"It is not in me."
