Busy, Busy Christians

Busy, busy, Christian –
Where are you bound today?
“To church, to church.” the answer comes,
“Now move, you’re in my way!”

Busy, busy Christian,
A question I’ve for you.
“Not now, not now!” the answer comes,
“I’ll see you when I’m through!”

Busy, busy Christian –
“But don’t you understand?
My meeting starts at eight, dear friend,
And oh, the speaker’s grand!”

So busy, busy, Christian
Hurries on his way,
So much to do, so much to do,
He’s busy every day.

And busy, busy Christian
Never heard a word,
As unsaved friends all but cried out,
“How can I meet your Lord?”

Listen, busy Christian,
Your church’s life won’t end,
If you should miss a meeting
To witness to a friend!

Your committee still will function
With supersonic speed,
While you are at a neighbor’s house
Meeting someone’s need.

Busy, busy, Christians,
Could we be oh, so blind,
That as we scurry off to church,
We leave the Lord behind?

Slow down, busy Christian
Before you run away –
Get busy finding just what God
Would have you do today!

He’ll show you where He’ll have you go
If you will just be still,
And in His presence, THEN set out
To do His precious will.
