Let Him Take His Time

If we believed the plan of God
Was carved so pure and clear,
That in our heart of hearts, we thought
We knew when He’d appear.

If God’s next move was fashioned so,
That ne’er we’d be perplexed.
For we presumed without real trust,
To know what He’s planned next.

We’d need no faith, we’d strut about,
So proud of what we knew,
That God, our plan would lay aside,
Until our pride was through.

No, God must shield us from such things,
As to His arms we climb,
And resting there, without a clock,
Just let Him – take – His time.
